New to Breast Screening? About NHS Breast Cancer Checks in South Essex
New to NHS breast screening?

Source: South Essex Patient Satisfaction Survey 2009

The NHS South Essex breast screening service is run by women, for women. Your screening visit is brief, taking around half an hour on average per person, which is nothing compared to the reassurance that breast screening is your best chance of catching cancer at an early stage, when there is a good chance of a successful recovery.

Did you know that around half the cancers found at screening are still small enough to be removed from the breast, which avoids having the whole breast removed?

However busy you are, however fit and healthy you feel and whether or not you know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, you’ll be glad you took this opportunity to be screened.

Need to change an existing appointment? Not a problem.
